Speaker:  S. Whitney Rahman, Esq., Roland & Schlegel, P.C.

    Topic:  Religion in the Workplace

Topic Description:  This lively session will explore the legal underpinnings for claims of religious discrimination in the workplace.  It will examine the need for reasonable accommodation to religious beliefs, and just what that does and does not encompass.  Questions about religious discrimination can arise in many different circumstances, such as challenges to dress codes and grooming codes, requirements to work on the Sabbath, proselytizing, and religious observances in the workplace.  It also will cover issues related to religious harassment.  Attorney Rahman will provide practical advice for dealing with religious issues in the workplace.  Attendees will be able to participate in deciding how to handle situations that will be presented.
