Event Details

Each year our local SHRM chapter sponsors a holiday dinner for the children at the Police Athletic League on Walnut Street in Reading. This year’s dinner is scheduled for Thursday, December 5^th. We anticipate approximately 100 children.

Our SHRM volunteers serve the children a spaghetti dinner and assist with some holiday activities following dinner. Santa and his Helper then arrive and each child is given a chance to speak to them individually and presented with a goody bag to take home. Each child is also given a photo of themselves with Santa.

To make this holiday event memorable for the children we need approximately 100 of the following items:

• Small toys, coloring books, crayons, or other items of interest to children
• Holiday activity or game for after dinner
• Holiday candy, individually wrapped
• Pretzels, chips or other individual bags of snacks
• Juice or non-refrigerated drinks

We are looking for volunteers to help assemble the goody bags and to provide an activity for after dinner. We will have volunteers from EnerSys to be Santa and Santa’s helper.

Monetary donations are also appreciated and will be used to purchase additional items needed for the evening. Donations may be mailed to Berks County SHRM Chapter 179, PO Box 55, Temple, Pa 19560. This event is always very well received by the children at PAL and we thank you in advance for your support!
