Jaime Notter will be speaking at LSHRM's June breakfast meeting at the Farm & Home Center in Lancaster.  The title of her presentation is "Partnering with Millennials:  What Everyone Needs to Know About Generational Diversity in Today's Workplace"

As the youngest generation (the Millennials) become more of a force in the workplace, the rest of us are struggling to adapt to their new approach.  And this can actually be made worse by the multitude of authors, speakers, and researchers that bring competing, even contradictory claims about the nature of these differences and what we should do about it.  In this presentaion, Jamie Notter will help you understand what you need to know about generational differences - and what you don't.  He'll introduce important aspects of generational theory that will help you weed out the hype on this topic moving forward, and he'll cover the important characteristics of the generations, with extr time on the Millennials, because we understand them the least.  He'll close with a conversation about how the Millennial approach is at the foundation of a broader shift in organizational cultures that are thriving in today's fast-paced, ever-changing business environment.  You'll increase your undersanding and, more imporantly, develop strategies for applying that knowledge to leadership and management in your organization.

Jamie Notter has a Master's degree in Conflict Resolution from George Mason University and a Certificate in Organization Development from Georgetown University.  He has been consulting to organizations on issues of diversity, conflict, leadership, and culture for more than 15 years.

The speaking event is from 8am to 10am.  Doors open at 7:30am with hot breakfast served.
