Disability Awareness: How can HR Support Success with Onboarding and Retaining Workers with Disabilities?

This presentation will outline practical strategies to assist HR in identifying and retaining qualified workers with disabilities.  Presenters will dispel popular myths regarding people with disabilities in the workforce and attendees will learn the benefits of hiring people with disabilities. 

Attendees of this presentation will:

·         Better understand the nature of disability including demographic, labor market and workplace trends.

·         Know practical strategies to successfully recruit people with disabilities.

·         Know practical retention strategies for people with disabilities.

·         Understand the benefits of tapping into this particular labor pool.

Meeting Details

• 7:00-7:30am - check-in and networking

• 7:30-8:00am - breakfast, general meeting 

• 8:00-approx. 9:00am - presentation

• Cost is $18 for members and $25 for guests.  Breakfast is included.

• Check made payable to SHRM Berks Chapter is preferred by cash is also accepted.  Can pay at meeting.

• Pre-registration of members and guests is required by emailing Wendy Button by April 4th.

• Cancelations of registrations must be received by April 4th to avoid invoice for fee.

• Members registering guests must be in attendance at meeting.

• Berkshire Country Club is business casual dress code.  No jeans or shorts, please.
