Session #2
Skills vs. Values: Are We Hiring for Cultural Fit?
Most candidates get invited to the table because of the functional skills listed on their resume. As the candidates move through the interview process, do we focus more on their values or their functional skills? Values complement the hard to technical skills, influence the decisions we make, and show us what we want. Skills help us achieve our goals, which is why values and skills complement each other. Ut, are values just as important as skills? Do values determine cultural fit?
Following this presentation, attendees will have:
- Increased ability to create detailed and effective job requirements
- Better understanding on how to ask key core values related questions
- Greater ability to determine a candidate’s cultural fit
- Greater insight on how to plan and prepare for the interview
- Additional strategies and techniques for continued learning
